One of the most beautiful things about this art is that it is so easy to let the external world slip away and become completely present with the tools in front of you. It is a practice in mindfulness and the slowness it requires can be addictive.
If you would like take some time to sit still and create something beautiful then join me in one of my workshops and learn the delicate art of paper cutting.
This workshop is a lovely introduction to paper cutting themed around Australia’s beautiful botanicals. Using the natural surroundings of NEST as inspiration, you will discover the tools used and learn how to create a botanical design suitable for paper cutting. We will spend some time discussing your ideas, look at negative and positive space, become familiar with a scalpel and create a design featuring the exquisite Australian flora.
At the end of this workshop you will walk away with your own intricate paper cut, cut from a beautiful sheet of A3 acid free, light resistant black Canson Mi-Teintse paper.
No experience in drawing or paper cutting is necessary but a little bit of patience is highly beneficial!
