Learning to work with pastels on a textured surface. The first part of the workshop session will be an introduction on how to use pastels and understanding surfaces to paint on.
Please bring any reference photos that you are wanting to work on in this lesson.
This workshop will give you an insight into ways to use the pastels and the surface that you work on. This is such a forgiving medium that can fit into a person's busy lifestyle without
waiting for paint to dry
‘‘I have always enjoyed using the Western Australian coast as a means of getting
inspiration for my work.
It's light and colour, textures, movement, and ever-changing moods have given me an endless supply of subject matter.
These are the places we constantly are drawn to. To recharge our batteries, calm our worries, lift our spirits and take our senses into overdrive.
The excitement of exploring new areas locally and afar is what keeps me stimulated in painting. Over the past years, I have been drawn further inland and been inspired by the wheat belt areas and also the array of salt lakes we have in Western Australia.
My art is a way of showing the beauty of this amazing environment we live in. To see, appreciate and care for what we all take for granted’’
